It’s Halloween!

Our school has two holiday celebrations each year. Christmas is the biggest, and, you guessed it, Halloween is number two. Today the five teachers at A1 Language Academy entertained over 200 students with games, crafts, ghost stories, candy, and shrimp crackers (yes, shrimp crackers. Kids love that stuff here).

And we dressed up. Devin transformed into a one-eyed, hook-handed pirate. I became “Teacher Viking,” although Devin says that I just looked like a dirty biker wearing a Viking helmet.

The kids wore costumes too. The little ones were the cutest, but all the teachers were impressed by the effort from the older students. We had Sam, the head-to-toe mummy. Then there was Yvonne, who wore full-face paint with her witch costume, and Annie, who combed her long black hair forward for hours to look like the girl from the Japanese horror movie The Ring.

Check out the pictures below! Also, our apologies for the erratic blogging during October. Expect more frequent posts after I finish my law school applications!

Hi Devin and Adam

After seeing your pictures of Halloween, it seems kind of tame to what Ann John Tobin and Adam's mom and I saw at the Rubenstein Friday night. Students from St. Olaf don't drink beer? Another urban myth shot down. Of course they coulk have been from Carleton!

It was nice though, as we left. The kids kept on saying: "Make way for the older folks". *&%#@ kids!

Keep on Teaching!

Much Love,

Dad

Hi Adam and Devin,

I love the Halloween pictures the kids look so cute. I saw you (Adam) in the background I had to chuckle. Do the kids know what a Viking is? If not they do now!! Devin you made a cute Pirate! With your hair and skin color you look like the little girls big sister.
I hope teaching and working is getting a little easier. Hang in there after Christmas time will fly.

Have fun
Love,

Mom

OK. This is my fourth try to send a comment. It is embarassing how often I forget my darn password. By the time I recovered it, I timed out! Anyway, I enjoyed the Halloween photos. Quite a pair. The sexy pirate maiden and the dirty biker Viking! Keep those photos coming. I love to see you in them :-D
